The CCC certification for electric vehicle charging piles will be mandatorily implemented starting August 1st
The State Administration for Market Regulation (CNCA) has implemented mandatory product certification (CCC certification) for electric vehicle power supply equipment starting August 1, ensuring product quality and safety by conducting tests on key safety indicators such as electric shock protection, short-circuit protection, and fire resistance, as well as on-site quality assurance capability and product conformity checks for enterprises.
With the continuous popularization and development of new energy vehicles in China, electric vehicle charging equipment (commonly known as charging piles) has become an important infrastructure serving public transportation needs. Starting from August 1st, electric vehicle charging equipment without CCC certification shall not be manufactured, sold, imported, or used in other business activities. For equipment already in operation before August 1st, operators must strictly comply with the relevant provisions of the Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China and the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, ensuring that the goods or services provided meet the requirements for safeguarding personal and property safety.
Next, the State Administration for Market Regulation (CNCA) will continue to strengthen the supervision and management of CCC certification for electric vehicle power supply equipment, crack down on illegal activities such as selling products without certification or misusing certification marks, and strictly enforce rigorous entry controls, process oversight, and risk management to foster a consumer environment where the public can purchase with confidence and use with peace of mind.
