China's exports of passenger vehicle tires to Europe have significantly declined
On August 4, the European Tyre Association released the market data for replacement tires in the second quarter of this year.
During the reporting period, the sales of passenger car and light truck tires in Europe increased by 3% year-on-year, with a 2% growth in the first half of the year.
It is noteworthy that the export volume of Chinese tires to Europe has significantly decreased due to EU anti-dumping measures.
In the first quarter of 2026, China's passenger vehicle tire exports to Europe decreased by 57% year-on-year, with market share dropping to 42%.
In the first two months of the second quarter, its imports remained stable, with market share rebounding to 51%.
Based on the data from January to May, China's export volume of passenger vehicle tires to Europe declined by 24% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, tires from ASEAN quickly filled the gap, with their market share surging from 7.4% to 19.9%.
Among them, Thailand's passenger car tire exports to Europe rose to 6 million units, marking a year-on-year increase of 156%.
Vietnam's exports to Europe reached 3 million units, marking a 130% year-on-year increase, while Cambodia and Indonesia also saw significant growth.
However, these tires struggle to offset the loss gap. From January to May this year, the EU's passenger car tire imports declined by 6% year-on-year.
