Recently, affected by multiple factors, the tire industry has seen a new wave of price increases. As before, the products involved are all-steel radial tires and inner tubes.
On August 14, Aeolus Tyre announced a 2% price increase on selected TBR (truck and bus radial) products, effective August 15, with specific adjustments subject to its price list. The company said its production costs have exceeded the range it can absorb.
Focusing on inner tubes, Zhongce Rubber (ZC Rubber) decided to raise prices effective August 1, increasing the invoiced price of all its inner tube products by a uniform 10%.
Henan Fengchi Lutong Tyre announced a 5% price increase on all models of butyl inner tubes, effective August 10, and will not accept any advance payments. Previously, the company had produced using low-cost raw material inventory. That low-cost inventory has now been exhausted, and subsequent production will source raw materials at current market prices. This has substantially increased its production costs, making its original prices unsustainable.
As for the reasons behind this round of increases, they are all passive adjustments driven by rising raw material and transportation costs.
