The State Administration for Market Regulation (CNCA) has enforced the Compulsory Product Certification (CCC certification) for electric vehicle power‑supply equipment starting August 1. Key safety indicators including electric‑shock prevention, short‑circuit protection, fire resistance and flame retardancy are subject to testing, alongside on‑site assessments of manufacturers’ quality assurance capabilities and product consistency inspections, to effectively underpin product quality and safety.
With the growing popularity and development of new‑energy vehicles in China, electric‑vehicle power‑supply equipment (commonly known as charging piles) has become critical infrastructure for meeting public travel needs. As of August 1, electric‑vehicle power‑supply equipment without valid CCC certification must not leave factories, be sold, imported, or used in any other business activities. For equipment already in operation prior to August 1, operators shall strictly abide by the Product Quality Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, and ensure the goods or services they provide meet requirements for safeguarding personal and property safety.
Going forward, the State Administration for Market Regulation (CNCA) will further strengthen supervision and administration over CCC certification for electric‑vehicle power‑supply equipment. It will crack down severely on violations such as factory release and sales without certification, and fraudulent use of certification marks. Rigorous control will be exercised over market access, production processes and risk prevention, to foster a consumption environment where the public can shop and use products with full confidence.
