Antioxidants slow rubber aging and extend its service life, while reinforcing agents enhance the tire's wear resistance. However, the presence of these over 200 chemical substances makes it difficult to synchronize the movement and sedimentation of the tire's internal molecular structure after it is formed.
However, the stable period is only one important stage in a tire's lifespan. The key factors that truly determine its lifespan lie in the road conditions, driving environment, and driver habits once the tire is installed on the road.
Road conditions vary significantly depending on the road surface. Long-term driving on smooth, clean highways or urban asphalt roads ensures relatively even contact between tires and the road, leading to slower wear. However, frequent driving on rugged mountain roads, gravel roads, or roads covered with sharp debris like gravel and glass fragments not only exposes tires to greater impact and compression, but also increases the risk of scratches and punctures on the tread, resulting in bulges, cracks, and other damage, significantly shortening their service life.
Additionally, accumulated water, snow, and ice on the road can also adversely affect tires. Water reduces friction between the tire and the road, increasing the risk of slipping. Water can also penetrate the tire's interior, accelerating rubber aging. Accumulated snow and ice can significantly reduce tire grip, making it more likely to skid and lose control. To ensure driving safety, drivers often need to brake and steer frequently, further exacerbating tire wear.
Driving environment is also a significant factor affecting tire life. Different climates, such as high temperatures, low temperatures, and humidity, can have varying effects on tire performance and life. In high-temperature environments, the air inside the tire expands due to heat, causing the tire pressure to rise. Excessive tire pressure can cause excessive wear in the center of the tire tread. High temperatures also accelerate rubber aging, reducing its elasticity and strength, making it more susceptible to cracking and blowouts.
In low-temperature environments, rubber becomes hard and brittle, losing its elasticity and flexibility. This makes tires more susceptible to damage when impacted during driving. Low temperatures also reduce friction between the tire and the road, affecting vehicle handling. Furthermore, prolonged driving in environments with severe air pollution and high acid and alkaline content can corrode the tire surface with chemicals, accelerating rubber aging and damage.
During sudden braking, the tires are subjected to tremendous braking force, dramatically increasing the coefficient of friction between the tread and the road.
This not only rapidly increases the local temperature of the tread, accelerating rubber aging, but can also lead to uneven tread wear. During sharp turns, the tire sides experience significant lateral force, which can easily cause bulges, cracks, and other damage to the tire sides over time. Furthermore, long-term overloading is another significant factor in 轮胎损害。
Overloading can cause the tire's load to exceed its designed load capacity, leading to excessive tread wear. It can also increase the temperature inside the tire, accelerating rubber aging and tire tire tire fatigue fracture. In severe cases, it can even cause a tire blowout.
