Guangxi has issued more than 12 billion yuan to promote the construction of strong transportation areas.
It has been learned from the Guangxi Autonomous Region Department of Finance that the department recently allocated 12.02 billion yuan for key projects in the transportation sector for 2026, focusing on critical areas and precisely directing funds towards highways, water transport, and comprehensive transportation, providing financial support for accelerating the construction of a strong transportation region.
In terms of consolidating the highway network framework and strengthening the national three-dimensional transportation system, Guangxi allocated 6.44 billion yuan for highway project construction. Among them, 6.1 billion yuan is specifically for the construction of national expressway projects such as G7221 Hengyang to Nanning and G7522 Guiyang to Beihai, promoting the accelerated formation of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network in Guangxi; 300 million yuan supports the construction of the G219 border national highway, strengthening the transportation security capability in border areas, serving the strategy of enriching the border and securing the border; 40 million yuan is directed towards the "three projects" of ordinary national and provincial roads, continuously promoting the renovation of dangerous bridges, disaster prevention, and safety refinement projects on ordinary national and provincial roads, promoting the sustainable development of the highway industry.
Focusing on the construction of water transport channels and empowering the acceleration of the Pinglu Canal navigation, Guangxi allocated 5.52 billion yuan to support major water transport infrastructure construction such as the Pinglu Canal and Baise Water Conservancy Hub navigation facilities. Among them, 5 billion yuan is arranged for the construction of the Pinglu Canal project, ensuring the high-standard construction of the backbone project of the new western land-sea corridor and its smooth navigation within the year; 520 million yuan is allocated to advance other high-grade inland waterway projects such as the Baise Water Conservancy Hub navigation facilities, accelerating the construction of a water transport network connecting rivers and seas, providing key support for the construction of the new western land-sea corridor.
In terms of improving the layout of emergency hubs and enhancing regional comprehensive service capabilities, Guangxi allocated 60 million yuan for the construction of highway emergency equipment and material reserve centers and the Hezhou Railway Station comprehensive passenger transport hub, addressing the shortcomings in highway emergency rescue capabilities, optimizing the transfer efficiency of comprehensive passenger transport hubs, and enhancing the emergency response capability and resilience level of the comprehensive transportation system.
