The development quality and efficiency of Fuzhou Port have been comprehensively enhanced.
With the successful completion of unloading the last container from the "Gu Rui Maersk" vessel, Fuzhou Port set a new record for single-vessel container efficiency at 265.7 natural containers per hour on June 30. That month, the 2025 Global Container Port Performance Index rankings were released, and Fuzhou Port stood out among over 400 participating ports worldwide, claiming the top spot. Fuzhou Port's foreign trade significantly leads the way, with comprehensive service capabilities showing strong momentum and overall development quality and efficiency improving across the board.
According to the data, in the first half of the year, Fuzhou Port completed port and shipping construction investments of 2.933 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.4%; cargo throughput reached 172 million tons, foreign trade cargo throughput was 51.718 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14%; container throughput reached 1.867 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.
The roll-on/roll-off export of commercial vehicles became the most striking growth highlight for Fuzhou Port in the first half of the year. The Jiangyin Port Area completed 28 vessel operations, surpassing 30,000 vehicles, exceeding the total volume for the entire previous year. The nation's first "arrival equals port arrival" sea-rail intermodal transport model has opened up the "last mile" of complete vehicle transportation—providing one-stop services for vehicles upon arrival at the station. Leading manufacturers like BYD use this channel to achieve regular overseas shipments, with monthly routes to the Middle East and Africa. The hub for roll-on/roll-off exports of commercial vehicles along the southeast coast is rapidly taking shape.
Building on the stable foundation of the Jiangxi freight train, the Fuzhou Port Development Center in Fujian Province has collaborated with ports, railways, and logistics companies to deeply explore northern Fujian and the Anhui hinterland, tailoring end-to-end logistics solutions and achieving dual growth in cargo sources both within and outside the province. In June, the Jiangyin Port Area's sea-rail intermodal integrated direct unloading container volume exceeded 20,000 TEUs, marking an important milestone in the "last mile" of sea-rail intermodal transport.
