Opening year to welcome "new" Yingkou port to open TIR international road transport business

　　Recently, an international road transport container truck with a TIR sign smoothly departed from the international yard of the container terminal company at Yingkou Port after passing machine inspection and customs sealing. It will subsequently exit through the Manzhouli port and finally reach Europe, marking the successful launch of the new TIR international road transport business at Yingkou Port.

　　Compared to traditional road transport, the significant advantage of TIR international road transport is achieving "one-time declaration, one certificate throughout, direct vehicle arrival" without changing vehicles or transshipment, realizing "door-to-door" transport. Vehicles holding a TIR certificate and approved can achieve convenient customs clearance between TIR contracting countries, with transport efficiency improved by about 75% compared to rail and shortened by about 20 days compared to sea transport, with transport costs only 25% of air transport.

　　The international yard of the container terminal company at Yingkou Port is the centralized supervision operation site for foreign trade containers at Bayuquan Port. Its main function is to cooperate with customs and port joint inspection departments to supervise the entry and exit direct shipping, domestic feeder line containers, and their goods at Bayuquan Port, as well as to cooperate with customs-related inspection work and the loading and unloading of goods for port distribution. To support the TIR business, the company has specifically designated a TIR operation area in the international yard, covering functional areas such as the cargo inspection area, sealing area, vehicle waiting area, and machine inspection area. The operation area is connected to the customs supervision system, implementing 24-hour high-definition monitoring to achieve full visualization, full coverage, and traceable management.

　　"The launch of the company's TIR business fully aligns with the 'Belt and Road' initiative, and under the premise of ensuring compliance and timeliness, the comprehensive logistics cost is expected to decrease by 15% to 20%," said Zeng Yi, deputy manager of the operations department of the container terminal company at Yingkou Port. The company will rely on this business to change the single sea, air, and rail transport modes for small electromechanical equipment, daily necessities, and international express shipments from the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta. These goods will be gathered at Yingkou Port through domestic sea transport and then sent to Europe via TIR international road transport, forming a new multimodal transport channel of "domestic sea transport gathering + port hub transshipment + TIR cross-border road." The company aims to build its international yard into a hub distribution center for TIR business at Yingkou Port.
